Kenneth M. “Ken” Low, 64, of Fort Wayne passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018. He was born on November 6, 1953 in Indianapolis, a son of the late Myron “Mac” and Aulta (Silvey) Low. He attended Indiana Central University where he studied English, Speech, and Theater and later received his Masters of Communications at Christian Theological Seminary. He worked as a public school teacher at the middle and high school levels teaching language arts, theater, and speech as well as directing drama at Shelbyville High School, Norwell Middle School, and Bellmont Middle and High School. He was also an adjunct professor at a number of local colleges. Ken was a two time Anthony Award winning actor and a Thespian award winning director. He was involved with the Bower North Murder Mystery Theater where he originated the character “Carlos Di Toros” making him his own. Later on, he founded the entertainment group, Starlight Live! with his family. He was recognized for his roles in the community as Colonel Jessup in A Few Good Men, as Narrator in A Christmas Story, General Waverly in White Christmas, and Stage Manager in Our Town. Other favorite roles were Lloyd in Noises Off, Mr. Toad in Wind in the Willows, and Beauregard in Auntie Mame. His last great feat was being knighted Lord Kenneth, King of the Realm at Medieval Times in Florida surrounded by his family. He also enjoyed golfing, fishing, horseback riding, running, dancing, singing karaoke, Sci-Fi, and was a lifelong Minnesota Vikings fan. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, friend and mentor to others including many former students. Surviving family include his wife, Tammy Low; sons, Christopher (Jennifer), Andrew, Jason (Lizzie), and Sean Low; grandchildren, Ava, Alivia, Kyla, Lyra, and Wyatt; sisters, Pamela Peters, and Kit Lair. Besides his parents, he was preceded in passing by his brother, Marlin Low. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 2417 Getz Rd., Fort Wayne with visitation one hour prior. Visitation will also be from 5-9 p.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Rd., Fort Wayne. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Visiting Nurse or Cancer Services of NE Indiana.
