Kevin Grant Hamil

Kevin Grant Hamil, 62, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2024, at his home in Fort Wayne. Born on June 17, 1961 in Muskegon, Michigan, Kevin was the son of John and Geraldine (Vander Kooi) Hamil. He graduated from Mona Shore High School in Norton Shores, Michigan, and Bethel College in Mishawaka, Indiana, where he studied business and accounting and played baseball. Kevin raised three sons: Grant (Kim), Ryan (Nichole), and Trace. He was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren. He is survived by his sons, grandchildren, mother, and two siblings, Brian (Amy) and Daniel (Rhonda). Kevin was preceded in death by his father (John Lee Hamil). Kevin was active in business in the Fort Wayne region and most recently owned Knepp Sand and Stone in New Paris, Indiana. He had a passion for sports—especially for golf—and he enjoyed the companionship of those he golfed with regularly. A memorial service for family and close friends will be held at Pine Valley Country Club in Fort Wayne on Saturday, May 4, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Tee Indiana Fort Wayne (Indiana Golf Foundation).
