Kim was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana on August 2, 1955. He attended Elmhurst High School and graduated from Snider High School.
He worked as an orderly at Parkview Hospital in his youth, at Falstaff Brewery as a young man, and as a bartender at a number of Fort Wayne establishments, including Our Place, where he pioneered flair bartending, and Covington Bar & Grill where he served his last drink. He retired from Centennial Wireless as regional manager.
Kim was an avid fisherman and golfer. Kim never met a stranger and made a great number of friends throughout his life. Always by his side were his dogs. Most recently, Otis, a striking merle bulldog who went on all of his errands with him, making his own friends along the way.
Kim had a huge impact on the lives of his daughters and grandsons, to which he passed along his knowledge and appreciation for music, nature, fishing, golfing, helping others, and sparking conversations with strangers.
Kim is survived by his twin daughters, Brooke and Heather Klejnot, his grandsons Aiden and Allen Menefee, and his sister, Jody Merhtens. He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Beverly Klejnot.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 13 from noon to 3:30 pm at Advantage Funeral Services at 2114 S. Calhoun Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46802. With funeral service starting at 3:30pm.
