

Lance Stephen King, 70, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at Lutheran Hospital. He was born on December 12, 1951, a son to the late Larry and Phyllis (Dailey) King. Lance honorably served his country as an automotive vehicle operator for the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, while being stationed in Okinawa. After his service in the military concluded, Lance worked in packaging and shipping in the automotive industry until his retirement. Lance was said to be "always happy" by his beloved family and friends. He also enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, listening to music, and watching racing. Surviving are his sons, Paul (Jen Nelson) King, and Lane King; grandsons, Luke, and Logan; siblings, Lowell King of Willis, Texas, Lawton King, Lloyd King, Lamont King, Phelicia Kemp of Linton, Indiana, and Patricia McGuire; and longtime friend, Brett Preston. In addition to his parents, Lance was preceded in death by his siblings, Lonnie King, Lyle King, and Lynn King. Funeral services for Lance will be held on Friday June 17, 2022 at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 6750 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana, 46804, at 12:00 p.m. with public visitation two hours prior. Burial with military honors will occur at the conclusion of the funeral service at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 241.
