Lawrence R. "Larry" Vandall

Lawrence R. “Larry” Vandall, 51, of Fort Wayne, passed away Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at his home with his wife by his side holding his hand. He was born September 25, 1962 in Selina, Kansas. Larry was married on April 11, 1992 to Nancy (McNulty) Vandall and they had just celebrated 22 years of marriage. He was a loving husband, “BoBo”, and dad. He worked as a head engineer/custodian at Lincoln Elementary School. He truly cared for the staff and students of Lincoln Elementary. Larry enjoyed racing and was a two-time street stock champion at Baer Field Speedway in 2011 and 2012. Surviving are his loving wife, Nancy of Fort Wayne; son, Zachary (Tiffany) Vandall of Fort Wayne; daughters, Emily (Brian) McGraw and Aubrey Vandall, both of Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren, Addison Vandall, Braylon Vandall, Aaliyah Vandall, Nicholas E. Vandall, Jacob Vandall, Gavin McGraw, Lillian McGraw, and Jace Moore; parents, Wilbur (LaWanda) Vandall and Mary (Alfred) Kobbeman (Day); brothers, Tom (Ronda) Ayers of Topeka, Kansas and Richard (Lori) Vandall of Fort Wayne; sisters, Jerri Lynn (Allen) Forrest of Vinita, OK., Selina (Aaron) Hansen, and Leeann (Tim) Kennerk of Fort Wayne; and his four-legged best friend, Ben. He was preceded in death by a son, Nicholas A. Vandall and mother-in-law, Loretta Windsor. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46809 with visitation 1 hour prior. Visitation will also be on Sunday, July 13, 2014 from 2-4pm & 6-8pm at the funeral home. Burial of ashes will be at the Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to Parkview Hospice or On Track Ministries.
