Born on May 23, 1948, Len was the son of Thadeus and Helen Mysliwiec. He lived a life marked by creativity, dedication, and deep love for his family.
Len is survived by his beloved wife, Joanne Mysliwiec; his children, Heather Mysliwiec and Derek (Elizabeth) Mysliwiec; his cherished grandchildren, Hunter, Aniston Lutton, Alexia, and Austin Wyse; and his siblings, sister Theodora Paschke and brother James Mysliwiec. Len and Joanne recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary with loved ones October 4, 2025.
As the owner and founder of Lifespace Design, Len built a remarkable career specializing in industrial design and residential architecture. His work reflected both vision and artistry, leaving a lasting mark on the communities he served.
He grew up in Southfield, Michigan, and graduated from Wayne State University. Over the years, he became known for his notable exhibit designs at museums and historical sites across the Midwest, including Science Central, as well as for his prominent residential home designs throughout Northern Indiana.
Len and Joanne first made their home in Fort Wayne from 1975 to 1980 before moving to South Bend, Indiana, where Len served as an adjunct professor in the art department at the University of Notre Dame. In 1985, they returned to Fort Wayne, where they continued to build their life together.
Len will be remembered for his incredible design talent, his frequent “yard therapy,” and, above all, for the love and admiration he had for Joanne, his family—especially his grandchildren and golden retrievers. His warmth, creativity, and quiet devotion will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of life will be held later this summer. Memorials on behalf of Len’s life and love of dogs can be made to the ASPCA.
