Lillian Rose Hitzeman, 100, of Bloomington, Indiana, went to be with the Lord on November 7, 2018. She was the daughter of Christian and Carolyn Jackemeyer of New Haven, Indiana. She graduated from Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing, Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 1941. She retired from Lutheran Hospital Staff Education Department in 1983. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Bloomington, Indiana, and a former member of Emmaus Lutheran Church in Fort Wayne where she also volunteered for many years.
Surviving family includes three sons, Stanley (Liz) of Carmel, Indiana; Steven (Janet) of Bloomington, Indiana; and Dennis (Anne) of Midland, Michigan. Also, four grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, of 47 years; four brothers and one sister.
Funeral services will be at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, on Sunday, November 11, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. with visitation from 5:00-6:00 p.m. A Memorial Service will be at Faith Lutheran Church (2200 S. High Street, Bloomington, IN 47401) on December 21, 2018 at 4:00 pm with memorial visitation an hour prior.
