Linda Mae Hammer was born July 12, 1938, to Beauford and Gertrude Willison. She went to be with Jesus on September 7, 2026. On May 21, 1960, she married Herman Hammer. They celebrated 63 years of marriage. During those years, she was the secretary for her husband’s business, Hammer Masonry Construction.
She was a charter member of Faith Bible Missionary Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She served faithfully as Treasurer, Secretary, and Missions Leader. Linda had a meek and quiet spirit and was a shining light to all who knew her.
She found enjoyment in her flower gardens, reading, quilting, and crossword puzzles, but nothing brought more joy than being with her grandchildren.
Her sweetness made an impression on her caregivers at Solace Hospice and Lutheran Life Villages; to whom we owe many thanks.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Hammer, and sister, Beverly Strater.
She leaves behind a son, David (Julie) Hammer of Roanoke, Indiana; a daughter, Sarah (Charlie) Williams of Zanesville, Indiana; four grandchildren, Misty Williams, Dustin Hammer, Sam Williams, Amanda Kline, and their spouses. Also left to mourn are five great grandchildren, and a brother, John Willison.
