

Linda Sue Leis, 73, of New Haven, Ind., passed away on February 15, 2026 at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born June 17, 1952 in Indianapolis, Ind., she was a daughter of the late Dr. Glen S. Gardiner and Bernadette (Haifley) Gardiner.
After graduating New Haven High School, class of 1970, Linda attended Fort Wayne Art School for several years. In the early 70’s she married her first husband, Steve Hoy, and later began working as an orthodontic lab technician for her father’s orthodontic office, Dr. Glen S. Gardiner, D.D.S. She was later married again to her second husband, Juergen Hinz. She continued her dental career at the University of Kentucky Dental School where she taught and trained others. She came back to Fort Wayne and continued working as an orthodontic lab technician at her father’s orthodontic office for over 25 years. While back in Fort Wayne, she married the love of her life, Terry Leis, whom she had known from her younger years in school, and they celebrated 27 years together.
Linda was artistic and loved working with her hands. She enjoyed gardening, baking, and crafts. She was extremely fond of animals, especially her beloved dog of 15 years, Gemma.
She is survived by her loving husband, Terry Leis of New Haven; grandchildren, James. J.T., and Sammy; brother, Robbie Gardiner of New Haven; sister, Kim Bangert of Fort Wayne; and her four-legged companion, Gemma; She was also preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Curt Bangert.
A Celebration of Life will be at 1:00pm on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Rd., with visitation three hours prior. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne.
