Linda K. Seabold Babb

Linda Babb, 51, died peacefully, Friday, June 6, in Hospice Care at Parkview Regional Medical Center after a long battle with metastatic breast cancer. Born June 11, 1962 she was a lifelong resident of Fort Wayne. Graduate of Elmhurst High School, she was a devoted educator and began teaching outdoor curriculum at Three Rivers Montessori School. Miss Linda’s students lovingly called her “Barn Lady.” Her passion for nature might be found on campus in helping children learn about animal life cycles by catching tadpoles and watching them mature into frogs. She helped her students learn compassion and care for animals by taking care of the school’s livestock. Later, her gift for teaching continued indoors as a certified Montessori teacher. After being diagnosed with cancer, Linda taught her children at MLK Montessori about love, change, and courage. She pulled strength from them, and found hope in their resilient spirits. Together, they found bravery.

Her determined optimism came in the form of frequent posts to social media providing those she knew and loved with a reminder that her disease would not define her. She always ended on a positive note, and always wanted to acknowledge the gifts that she was given. The impact she had on our lives was immense, and a constant reminder that unconditional love is the biggest legacy you can leave.

She is survived by her husband, Kevin, children, Alyssa and Ethan. She is also survived by three sisters; Rebecca Curdes of Moyock, NC, Sharon Mercer, Kathy Jarvis and sister-in-law Brenda Ginder-Seabold, all of Fort Wayne. She also is survived by an aunt, several cousins and six nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Donald and Virginia Seabold and brother, John.

Funeral services will be 2pm Thursday June12 at Klaehn, Fahl, Melton Funeral Home, 420 West Wayne Street. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday.

Memorials may be made to South West Montessori, 1625 Magnavox Way, Fort Wayne, IN 46804 or Cancer Services of NE Indiana, 6316 Mutual Dr. Fort Wayne, IN 46825

Kevin, Sharon, and family, I am so sorry. I apologize for the delay in this message; I found out about Linda's passing at the reunion last summer and at the time, didn't know how to reach you. I so wish she had been home when I brought the dinner over last spring. I really wanted to talk to her (since I had breast cancer) and offer her some encouragement. Please know that you've been in my prayers. Kevin, I know it's late, but if you guys ever need anything, remember that I'm just a few minutes away, in Kensington Downs.

Kevin, Alyssa, and Ethan you were blessed with a beautiful woman wife and Motherwell is now your angel. Live your life full of love hope and happiness as she did. Be honest compassionate and full of joy as she was. She was my friend even though we hadn't seen each other inmany years she was still my friend and I loved her. God is blessed with an angel on earth that is now in heaven. Love Linda.

Kevin, Alyssa, Ethan and Family,

Kevin and I work at Parkview together. The first time I met Linda, the first thing I noticed was her beautiful smile. Linda's smile will brighten the Heavens above. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Kevin, though miles separate us, my thoughts and prayers are with you. You and Linda were always wonderful friends and special people. Linda's character of love will be missed by many, but yet it still lives in those whom she touched. And for that reason, it will not die.
