Liz Zartman

Elizabeth D. "Liz" Zartman age 68 of Yoder, IN, passed away peacefully at home with her husband by her side on September 14, 2026. Liz was born on December 27, 1957, in Fort Wayne, IN, to her loving parents, Tom and Mary Harber. She retired after a long and dedicated career working in Trust Operations starting in 1977 at Fort Wayne National Bank, and included many years at the State Bank in Defiance, OH.

In Oct 1977, Liz married Jeff, whom she met while waitressing at Azar's. Together, they built a life centered around family. She deeply loved and cherished her two children James and Valerie, and treasured her role as " memaw" to her three grandchildren. She found endless joy in spending time with them and being part of all they were involved in.

Her deep devotion kept her actively involved in church. She also enjoyed reading, going on drives, taking walks, attending concerts and traveling. She always looked forward to the yearly trips to Chicago to root on the Bears with close friends and she valued time spent with all her family - especially those "sister lunches".

Her unwavering faith, strength and grace shone brightest as she faced cancer, serving as an inspiring example for us all. She will be missed every single day.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jeff Zartman; son, James (Erin) Zartman; daughter, Valerie (Jimmy) Kawiecki; grand-children, Candace Kawiecki, Jayce and Aidan Zartman; siblings, Rosie Colderbank, Barb (Dave) Marshall, Ed (Teresa) Harber, Bean (Marsha) Harber, Jo (Randy) Jacobs, Cathy (Dan) Leonard, Jeannine Harber; and countless other loving family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Mary Harber; as well as her sister, Jennie Baggot-VanGorder. A memorial service will be held at 12 pm on Thursday, October 1, 2026, with calling from 10 am to 12 pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home, 6750 Covington Rd., Ft. Wayne, IN 46804. Memorial visitation will be held from 4 pm to 7 pm on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 also at the funeral home.
