Loretta M. Smith

LORETTA M. SMITH, 84, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016, at St. Anne Home and Retirement Community in Fort Wayne. Born in Portland, Ind., Loretta worked as an Office Manager with Smoky's Record Shop for 19 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of United Faith Presbyterian Church. Surviving are her daughters, Jennie (Dennis) Blume of Fort Wayne and Julie (Rick) Freeman of San Jose, Calif.; sons, James Smith of Albion, Jeff (Terri) Smith of Fort Wayne and Jay Smith of Fort Wayne; brother, Dwight (Phyllis) Stoner of Portage, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Ella Stoner; and husband, Calvin Smith. Service is 2 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2016, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, with Calling one hour prior. Pastor Kathleen O'Connell officiating. Calling also from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at the funeral home. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Fort Wayne. Memorials may be made to the United Faith Presbyterian.
