Lorraine M. Olson Nelson

Lorraine M. Nelson, 88, of Fort Wayne, died peacefully Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at Woodview Healthcare in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Born Feb. 3, 1924, in Chicago Heights, Illinois, she was the daughter of Manfred and Bertha Olson. She was a stay-at-home mom who loved her family and enjoyed cooking, homemaking, and taking care of her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Raymond, in 1997 and brother, Arthur Olson. She is survived by her three children, Charles (Jeanne) Nelson, of Fort Wayne; Paul (Lori) Nelson, of Seattle, WA; and Carol Cavell, of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren, Caroline (Chris) Wasko, Andrew (Parker) Nelson, Matthew Cavell, Ann (Corey) Ehinger, and Andrea Nelson; sister, Lois Marthaler, of Steger, Illinois and sister-in-law, Mary Rose Olson. She was a member of First Wayne Street United Methodist Church, charter member of P.E.O. Chapter CP, and volunteer at Lutheran Hospital.

Funeral Service is 3:00 pm Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012 at Klaehn, Fahl and Melton Funeral Home, Wayne St. Chapel, 420 W. Wayne St. with calling two hours prior to service. Burial at Homewood Memorial Gardens, Homewood, Illinois. Preferred memorials to non-profits Trees Indiana and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
