Lyle Walter Thorne

LYLE W. THORNE, 83, passed away Friday, Aug. 8, 2014 at home. Born in Norwalk, Ohio, he had been a Fort Wayne resident since 1967. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Korean War veteran, and had retired from Navistar International in 1996 after 22 years. Surviving are twin sons, David A. of Fishers, and Douglas L. of Bloomington; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and one brother, Earl E. Thorne of Mentor, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lois, in 1987. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2014 at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, 420 W. Wayne St., Fort Wayne, (IN 46802) with The Rev. Jeffrey Buck officiating. Visitation is from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2014 at the funeral home. Memorials to Cancer services of Northeast Indiana or Fort Wayne Rescue Mission.
