Lynda G. Dykes, 73, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022. She was born February 23, 1948 in Winfield, Alabama to the late Rayford and MaryBell (Baccus) Lyons. Lynda worked for Verizon for over 25 years and later retired from there. She enjoyed spending time with her family, taking weekend trips with her husband James, and going to dinner with her family. Lynda is survived by her husband of 54 years, James Dykes; children, Kerry (Steve) Christie, James (Dawn) Dykes III, Temple (Jason) Cronkhite, Samuel (Shonna Kiser) Dykes, and Elizabeth (Nathan) Walker; grandchildren, Gabrielle and Kirk Christie, Sebastian and Harrison Cronkhite, Ryu Leverton, and Ezra Ragatz; great-grandchildren, Deirdre and Hamilton Cronkhite; and siblings, Margaret Owens, Susan Kaminski, Michael Lyons, Leasha Lyons, Vicki Green, Tommy Gilliam, and James Gilliam. A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, January 17, 2022 at Klaehn, Fahl, & Melton Funeral Home 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819 with visitation beginning at 11:00am. Burial to follow the service at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Contributions in Lynda's memory may be made to the family c/o James Dykes.
