Lynn R. Elder

Lynn R. Elder, 81, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026. He was born February 27, 1944, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, son of the late Charles L. and Audelene W. (Imler) Elder. He worked at International Harvester for 30 years, as well as working in construction throughout his life.

Surviving are his wife, Bonnie L. (Thompson) Elder of Fort Wayne, Indiana; sons, Daniel (Maria) Elder of Yoder, Indiana and Matthew (Rebekah) Elder of Fort Wayne, Indiana; grandchildren, Zachary (Amber) Elder, Emily (Scott) Roop, Elise (Wyatt) Mayer, Lukas Elder, Cameron Elder, and Micah Elder; and 10 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by granddaughter, Cora Grace Elder; and sisters, Karen Dale and Charlene Young.

Lynn enjoyed the outdoors including camping, fishing, hunting, and just working in the yard. He loved attending family gatherings, birthday parties for grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as their various events such as ballet recitals and baseball games. He was very well respected by his family and friends and was known for lending a helping hand whenever he could. He will be greatly missed, but we celebrate his life and the impact he had on so many people.
