Manford A. “Jake” Snider, 96, passed away September 1, 2025, at his home in Huntertown, IN. He was born on December 14, 1928, in Plymouth, IN, the son of Howard A. and Mary Snider. Jake graduated from Huntertown High School in 1948.
He retired in 1994 from Lincoln Life Insurance, with 40 years of dedicated service as the Foreman of Maintenance.
Jake was a longtime member of St. Joseph United Methodist Church. He was an avid I.U. basketball and Chicago Cubs fan. Jake enjoyed farming, boating and camping in their RV. He always looked forward to the daily paper to complete the Sudoku and crossword puzzles. Some of his favorite times were being with his family and attending his children and grand's sport and school activities.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nadine R. Snider of Huntertown, IN; children, Cheryl A. (Robert) Schultz of Fort Wayne, IN; Laura J. (Dan) Black, Kunkle OH; Lisa R. (Frank Hall) Hake, Lee A. (Patti) Snider, Dennis E. (Shay) Snider all of Fort Wayne, IN; sister, Joanna Dillman of Ohio; 13 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.
Jake was preceded in death by his sisters, Mildred Book, Viola Gross, Betty Mitch, Donna Martin; and brothers, Donald, Verlie and Eldon Snider.
Funeral service will be 11:00 am on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at D.O. McComb and Sons, Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation one hour prior. Committal and burial to follow at Perry Township Cemetery in Huntertown, IN.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph United Methodist Church or Heart to Heart Hospice.
