Margaret Hyder, 92, of Fort Wayne, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026. She was born and raised in the Rhineland-Palatinate Region of Germany on December 9, 1933, a daughter of the late Jacob and Katherine (Eppers) Bartzen. Margaret retired from General Motors in Michigan after several years of service. In retirement, she relocated to Leesburg, Florida to soak up the sun. She enjoyed a good trip to the casinos and teaching others to play her favorite game Skip Bo. Margaret is survived by her son, Charles (Sheryl) Hyder; daughter, Betty A. Hyder; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a large extended family including many in Germany. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in Margaret's memory can be made to the SPCA.
