Marilyn J. Ford Zehner Maddox

Marilyn J. (Ford) Zehner Maddox of Montpelier died at 9:43 pm on Friday, June 11 at home.

Marilyn was born in Hartford City on June 6, 1936, daughter of Raymond and Lena (Herbaugh) Ford.

She was a lifelong resident of Blackford and Wells counties and a 1954 graduate of Chester Center High School. She married Jack Zehner of rural Poneto on June 12, 1955. They shared life for 30 years on a Wells County farm. Marilyn married Ron Maddox of Montpelier on November 10, 1990, and they shared 19 years of life together.

She was a member of Pleasantdale United Methodist Church of Montpelier.

She was preceded in death by husband Jack; her parents; four brothers; and two sisters.

Marilyn is survived by husband Ron; sister Marjorie (Don) Pearson of rural Warren; two daughters, Doby (Peter) Confer of rural Zanesville and Robin (Scott) Minniear of Liberty Center; and son Andy (Damaris) Zehner of rural Putnam County. Also surviving are nine grandchildren: Nicole (Brian) Nussbaum; Riley Confer and Megan Confer; Gage Minniear and Rease Minniear; and Kate, Hannah, Jenny and Sarah Zehner. She is also survived by four step-children: Jeff Maddox of Montpelier; Pam (Steve) Reff of Montpelier; Rick (Kelliann) Maddox of Sheridan; and Randy (Julie) Maddox of Green Valley, Arizona; and nine step-grandchildren: Stacie, Brandy, Matthew, Megan, Cody and Taylor Maddox; Andy Reff and Aimee Reff; and one step great-grandchild.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, June 15 at 2:00 pm at Walker-Glancy Funeral Home in Montpelier, with calling after 11 a.m. Additional calling hours are from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, June 14 at the funeral home.
