Obituary of Marjorie Louise (Ault) Abbott
Marjorie Louise Abbott age 96, a native of Fort Wayne, Indiana passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 7, 2024. She was born May 23,1928 to the late Harry E. and Helen (Wyss) Ault. Marjorie worked during High School at the U.S. Supply Depot, gathering and completing orders sent to the Army. After graduating she worked at Lincoln Life Insurance, Sears catalog, IMCO Inc. (Team board member), and Watters Photo Studio. She was an avid photographer and began her own studio, “Baby Bunting Studios.” Marjorie met and later married John J. Abbott who preceded her in death after 37 devoted years. She also enjoyed traveling with family and her old high school pals (The Crestline “Angels”) to Florida, Branson, Mo., and in the West. She was a member of The Red Hatters. She was well known for her love of cooking. Though she loved playing the piano and organ, her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends. She enjoyed her recent years at Towne House Retirement Community. She was a former member of Wallen Baptist Church, and later joined the Cedar Creek Church of Christ. Marjorie was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Ault, grandsons, SPC Nicholas Hartge and Jonathon Abbott; great-granddaughter, Scarlett Marshall and great-grandson, Nash Wheeler; and brother and sister-in law, Joseph (Sue) Abbott. She leaves to continue her legacy her sons, David (Lori) Abbott and Paul (Debbie) Abbott; daughters, Joan Abbott and Barbara Abbott; 6 grandchildren, Jennifer Wheeler (Scott), Ryan Abbott (Abby), Justin Abbott (Sarah), Elise Truty (Bill), James Jones and Jennifer Marshall (Ryan). A brother, James (Mozelle) Ault; 21 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. A funeral service celebrating Marjorie’s life will be 1:00 pm Friday, July 12, 2024 at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Lakeside Park, 1140 Lake Ave. with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at the funeral home from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. Burial in Lindenwood Cemetery. Fond memories may be shared at www.mccombandsons.com for the family. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to The Shepherd’s House, Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of NYC, or Mission Aviation Fellowship.
