

Marjorie Ann Orth, 93, of Fort Wayne, passed away Monday, February 8, 2016 at Renaissance Village. She was born April 23, 1922 in Fort Wayne to the late Edward and Helen (Linsky) Koehl. She worked raising her family as a homemaker. She stayed active in her later years by participating and volunteering in many groups: such as, the Saint Joseph Medical Auxiliary, the Marians, Harvest House, R.S.V.P., Sacred Heart Rosary Sodality, and the South Side Seniors. She is survived by her daughters and sons in law, Judy and Greg Butler of Fort Wayne and Rose and Bill Ehinger of Hoagland; daughter, Mary Schlacks of New Conrad, OH; sons and daughters in law, Joseph and Sue Orth of Leo and Jim and Sue Orth of New Haven; 17 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Orth, who she originally met at an ice cream social at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church; son, Charles Orth; two great grandchildren; and son in law, Bill Schlacks. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, February 12, 2016 at 11 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 4643 Gaywood Dr., Fort Wayne, IN 46806 with visitation 1 hour prior. Visitation will also be on Thursday, February 11, 2016 from 4 to 8 PM at Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home For Funerals, 6810 Old Trail Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46809 with the rosary recited at 7:30 PM. Burial will be at Catholic Cemetery. Preferred memorial may be made to masses or Renaissance Village Activity Department.
