Mark Whittaker Jordan

Mark Whittaker Jordan, 83, passed away June 13, 2023, at his home in New Haven, IN. He was born December 29, 1939 in Howe, IN, the son of Earl and Marcedis Jordan. Mark worked at International Harvester for 30 years and over 13 years at Magnavox, retiring in 2000. He also was the owner of Stuckey Archery Shop in New Haven, IN. “I’ve had a good life, and I have a great wife.” Mark was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed many years of hunting, fishing, and camping. He loved cars, taking his grandchildren on lawnmower rides, tinkering in his garage, drinking coffee on the back porch, and playfully bantering with the neighbor over the backyard birds. Mark always had a smile on his face and a humorous story or joke to tell. Most of all, he adored spending time with his wife and cherished his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The quote above may be simply stated, but for those who had the privilege to know this admirable, devoted, and affectionate man, no truer words could have been spoken. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Sandra Jordan of New Haven, IN; children, Jeff (Christie) Jordan of Ossian, IN; Stephanie (Gregg) Freimuth of Hoagland, IN; Stacie (Chris Lomont) Martin of Huntertown, IN; sisters Lynn (Richard) Cunningham of FL; Jayne Jordan of NC; grandchildren, Ashtyn (Tyler) Graham; Kyle (Alissa) Freimuth; Ryan (Elizabeth) Freimuth; Aubrey (Garrett Closson) Martin; Brennan Martin; Matt Sidwell; Mitchell Sidwell; Meredith Sidwell; and great-grandchildren, James, Ellie, Everett, and one expected baby girl in July. Mark was preceded in death by his parents, sister Susanne Steward, and brother James Jordan. Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 pm Monday June 19, 2023, at D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne, IN. Funeral service will be 10:00 am Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at the funeral home with visitation one hour prior.
