Born April 20, 1943, in Fort Wayne, he was the son of the late Howard and Emma (Ladig) Dawkins Sr. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a member of the local Order of DeMolay.
He is survived by daughters, Katherine (Timothy) Freeman, Kris (Darron) Jordan and Karylin Dawkins; sons, David (Holly) Dawkins and Nathan (Tammy) Dawkins; 14 grandchildren; sisters, Sharon Moennig, Diana Eller and Marcia (Dennis) Flennery; and brother, Maurice (Sharon) Dawkins. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Marie Dawkins; sister, Edwina Feighner; and brother, Howard Dawkins Jr.
Funeral service is 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011, at C.M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home, 1327 N. Wells St. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, at the funeral home.
