She was the class Valedictorian at New Haven High School in 1959.
Mary was a charter member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Huntertown, IN. She was an avid Komet Hockey fan and former season ticket holder. She enjoyed attending Pow Wows and the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Becky VanGalder, grandchildren, Tara (James) Lomard, Aeries Lombard, Thomas James Hunt, April Steindl, step-son Wayne F. Ahr, and several great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Donald Eugene Ahr who passed October 1, 2018, and her son Scott L. Hunt.
Private Burial will take place at a later date at Highland Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo.
