Obituary of Mary Ann Brown
Mary Ann Brown passed in peace on Tuesday, January 8th, 2019 at the age of 84. Born to John and Martha Richter (deceased) on July 4th, 1934 in Winona, MN, Mary Ann was the beloved mother of five children, Matthew Brown, (Jill), Sharon Hallock (deceased), (Dave), Shelia Brown, Douglas Brown, (Denise) and Mark Brown, (Patricia), devoted wife of 14 years to John Brown (deceased), a loving sister to six siblings, Eugene Richter (deceased), Daniel Richter (deceased), Ronald Richter, Jack Richter, William Richter and Loretta Richter, grandmother to 16, great grandmother to 15, and dear friend to so many more. Mary Ann’s devotion to her faith and family guided her through good times and bad. After moving to Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1964 with her husband and children, Mary Ann began her career as an Administrative Assistant with the Fort Wayne Community Schools. A tireless worker and frequent volunteer, Mary Ann often sacrificed her needs so that others, especially her dear children, were always well taken care of. Mary Ann’s effervescent personality and keen sense of humor raised the spirits of everyone who had the pleasure of meeting and knowing her. Her natural ability to make others feel welcome, valued and respected was boundless and perhaps her greatest gift. She will be always remembered fondly, missed dearly and her spirit will live on through all those she touched in life. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 13th from 2pm to 6pm (rosary service at 5:30pm) at D. O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN.
