Dell Ford, 92, passed away on March 22, 2023 in Fort Wayne. A daughter of Howard and Vallie (Doak) Ford, Dell was born in Fort Wayne. In 1932, during the Great Depression, the Ford family moved to Ohio. They returned to Fort Wayne in 1944 and Dell graduated from North Side High School.
She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from the University of Michigan. In 1953, she was hired by The Journal Gazette, where she worked 46 years as a reporter and feature writer. She retired on December 31, 1999.
In addition to her parents, Dell was preceded in death by her beloved Tibetan Spaniel, Tahoe; two sisters, Carol Ford, who died in infancy and Yvonne Kindervater; brother-in-law, Dick Kindervater.
Surviving are a nephew, Richard Kindervater, of Lansing Michigan; two great-nephews and one great-great nephew.
