

MARY R. LANTZ, 87, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2015, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, after her courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born in Wilmington, Ohio, Mary graduated from St. Joe School of Nursing in Fort Wayne, in 1949, where she worked as a nurse. She was also co-business owner of Lantz Lithograph and Maude & Claude Antiques with her late husband. She and her husband were active members of the Northeastern Indiana Sports Car Club and The National Watch & Clock Collectors' Association. She was devoted to her children, their spouses, her granddaughter and her dogs. Surviving are her daughter, Ruth M. (Timothy J.) Hayes of Fort Wayne; son, John M. (Karen) Lantz of Avilla, Ind.; granddaughter, Caroline M. Hayes of Denver, Colo.; and brother, Michael R. Slyby of Des Moines, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Lantz; father, William R. Slyby; mother, Ruth Slyby; and brother, William M Slyby. Service is 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 28, 2015, at Concordia Lutheran Church, 4245 Lake Ave., with calling from 10 to 11 a.m. The Reverend Douglas Croucher officiating. Calling also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 27, 2015, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road.
