Mary "Julie" Julia Maurer, 90, of Fort Wayne passed away on February 26, 2025, with family at her side. She is the daughter of the late Edmund and Ruth Burke. Julie was born and raised in Springfield, Illinois but lived most of her adult life in Fort Wayne. While Julie worked several part-time jobs over the years, she considered her greatest role to be that of mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She always welcomed the friends of her children into her home with a smile and a glass of Kool-Aid. The family pool was enjoyed by many over the years who continued to stay in contact with her.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Anthony; children, Michael (Cathy), Kathleen (Michael), Carolyn (Christopher); grandchildren, Jennifer (James) Scott Brandt, Anthony (Bryy) Yaney, Alexander (Erin) Yaney, Andrew (Alexandra) Yaney, and Jacob Shelby; and three great grandchildren. Her oldest granddaughter, Gina Marie Scott, also preceded her in death. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 3, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 10700 Aboite Center Road Fort Wayne, Indiana 46804, with visitation one hour prior.
