Matthew John Halmich

Matthew “Matt” J. Halmich, 50, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. Born on November 16, 1975, in Reed City, Michigan, to parents Joe and Candace (Cremeans) Halmich, Matt was beloved by so many. After growing up in Romeo, Michigan, and moving to Fort Wayne with his family, Matt graduated from Wayne High School in 1993. Matt married his best friend, Debra (Pepper) Halmich, and spent many treasured years together raising their daughter, Madison, before Debra’s passing in 2024. Matt was previously a supervisor for High Tech Fabrications Inc. He was a member of New Life Fellowship. He enjoyed building with Legos, as well as putting together model cars and coloring in his favorite coloring books. Beyond all else, he deeply cherished his family. Those who had the pleasure of knowing Matt will always hold the memories made with him close to their hearts. Surviving Matt are his daughter, Madison (Quentel Martin) Halmich; mother, Candace Halmich; siblings, Veronica Bell, Jessica Angelo, and Joe Halmich; along with many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Debra Halmich, and father, Joe Halmich. Memorial contributions may be made in Matt’s honor to New Life Fellowship. Matt will forever be missed.
