Matthew P. Johnson, 42, of Fort Wayne passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015. He was born on February 21, 1972 in Pontiac, Michigan to Paul Johnson and Mary Ann Scheckel. He served in the U.S. Army. He later worked for the Allen County Juvenile Detention Center. He was very active in the Boy Scouts and served as a Scout Master of Troop 344. Surviving family include his son, Connor Johnson; and mother, Mary Ann (Steve) Scheckel. He was preceded in passing by his father, Paul. A memorial service will be 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Waynedale United Methodist Church, 2501 Church St., Fort Wayne with a gathering of friends and family beginning at 12:00 pm. Memorials may be made to Boy Scout Troop 344. Elzey-Patterson-Rodak Home for Funerals, Fort Wayne is handling arrangements.
