

Max Gerald Kaufman, 93, passed away on January 16, 2013 in Bluffton, Indiana. Max was born to John Easton and Edna Kaufman on May 22, 1919 in Whitley County, Indiana. After spending 2 years in the Army Air Corp he was honorably discharged in August of 1945 with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant. He returned to Whitley County to operate the family farm and also started his career at Dana Corporation retiring as a toolmaker in 1981. He was preceded in death by Rose his loving wife of 70 years and is survived by five sons, Jerry (Pat), Ted (Sharon), Phil (Cheryl), Dave, Bill (Jane) Kaufman and a daughter Marsha (Bob) Gemmer; eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild. Max devoted his life to his wife and family and was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of his life on January 26, 2013 at the Markle Church of Christ at 11:00 AM with visitation 1 hour prior to the service. The family has requested memorials to the Laud Christian Church or Markle Church of Christ. Burial will take place at Covington Memorial Gardens at 1:30 PM, Saturday, January 26, 2013.
