Max Kendrick, 78, of LaGrange, IN formerly of Fort Wayne, IN passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2020. He was born to the late John and Rita (Churchward) Kendrick in Fort Wayne on January 11, 1941. Max graduated in 1959 from Elmhurst High School. He married Bobbie Meyers on October 20, 1962 in Fort Wayne. Max retired after a long career as an iron worker with Local 147 to a life of leisure on Big Turkey Lake. He attended Stroh Church of Christ. Max enjoyed boating, woodworking, golfing, traveling, reading, and spending time with family.
Max is survived by his wife of 57 years, Bobbie; children, Lance (Jan) Kendrick, Todd (Candace) Kendrick, and Twyla (Jennifer) Kendrick; grandchildren, Kory, Dustin, Rachel (Jon) Schmidt, Rebecca, and Hannah Kendrick; great-grandchildren, Kadance, Ella, and Kimber; sister, Ann McCrillis; brothers, Paul (Esther), Gary (Christy), and Pat (Denise) Kendrick; and a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Kendrick and Betsy Cunningham; and brothers, Jim and Bill Kendrick.
Funeral service will be on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at D.O. McComb and Sons - Covington Knolls (8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804) at 1:00 pm with visitation beginning at 11:00 am until the time of service. Burial will follow at Covington Memorial Gardens.
