

Michael lived a full and meaningful life centered around his family, hard work, and the simple joys that brought people together. He shared 43 loving years of marriage with his beloved wife, Marylee Bermingham, who preceded him in death in October 2010. Together they built a life filled with love, dedication, and cherished memories while raising their 4 children and watching their family grow through generations.
He is survived by his children, Tiffany Smith and her husband David Smith II, Justin Bermingham, Dori West, Amy Thompson and her husband Kevin Thompson Michael was also a proud grandfather to 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him tremendous joy and pride throughout his life.
Michael honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967 as part of the Airborne Infantry. Following his military service, he spent more than 40 years working as a truck driver, providing faithfully for his family through years of hard work and dedication.
Outside of work, Michael enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He loved visiting state parks, spending time fishing, and gathering with family and friends for cookouts. He was known for speaking his mind, sharing honest advice, and always being willing to help the people he cared about. His strength, humor, and deep love for his family will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.
Michael’s legacy lives on through the family he loved so deeply and the many memories shared with him over the years. He will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
