Michael B Haberkorn

Michael B. Haberkorn, 71, passed away Friday, February 23, 2018 at Visiting Nurse in Fort Wayne. He was born in Watseka, IL, to the late Robert John and Shirley Lou Haberkorn. Michael was a graduate of Watseka High School, class of 1965. He was in the grocery business for 35 years and was a unit manager with Kroger for 24 1/2 years retiring in 1999. Michael then worked as a warehouse manager for Korte Electric for 8 years and for Aging and In Home Services for 4yrs years with the Meals on Wheels Program. He was a member of Taylor Chapel United Methodist Church, Michael was a diehard Chicago Sports fan and of the Fighting Illini, and also enjoyed NASCAR. His hobbies include listening to country music and working on his 65 Chevy.Surviving are his loving wife, Margaret Lois Haberkorn of Fort Wayne, IN.; children Joy Lynn (Tony) Ketzler of New Haven, IN.; Michelle "Shelly" (Jason) Hunter of Fort Wayne, IN.; Darin Haberkorn of Fort Wayne, IN.; grandchildren, Owen and Olivia Haberkorn, Luke and Aaron Ketzler, Emmersyn, Kael, Talan, and Cannen Hunter, sisters, Susan (George) Bayless of Mount Pleasant, MI; Sandra (Bill) Jackson of Salt Lake City, UT.; Pamela (Kevin) Knight of Galloway Township, NJ.; brother, Phillip (Sally) Haberkorn of Watseka, IL. and also leaves behind an abundance of dear friends. Service is 11:00 am, Thursday March 1, 2018 at Taylor Chapel United Methodist Church, 10145 Maysville Road with calling one hour prior, with Pastor Steven K. Conner officiating. Calling also Wednesday, February 28, 2018, from 2- 5 & 6 - 8 pm at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road Fort Wayne, IN.
