Michael Koch

Mike Koch, 85, passed away April 5, 2023, in Fort Wayne, IN. He was born February 20, 1938, in Magyarpolany, Hungary, the son of Frank and Mary Koch. He relocated to Canada after WWII. Mike attended college at Indiana Technical Institute in Fort Wayne, Indiana where he met his future wife, Teresa Butt. Mike and Teresa married in 1960 and had four sons.

He had an accomplished career as a Civil Engineer. He retired in 2007 as Vice President of Hagerman Construction which built many landmark structures in Fort Wayne as well as throughout Indiana.

Mike enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. He was happiest during gatherings, surrounded by his loving family.

He was a member of St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church as well as being an Usher.

Mike is survived by his wife, Teresa Koch of Fort Wayne, IN; sons, Michael (Tammy) Koch of Fishers, IN; Paul (BG) Koch of Plantation, FL; Stephen (Toni) Koch of Fort Wayne, IN, daughter-in-law Beth Koch of Hoagland, IN; grandchildren; Keith, Thomas, Tracy, Emily, Kaleigh, Korey, Jesse, Darcy, Bodhi, and Ranger; brother, Frank (Gertrude) Koch of St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada.

He was preceded in death by his son James Koch.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church 1501 E. Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, IN, with visitation one hour prior. Visitation also from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Tuesday April 11, 2023, at D.O. McComb and Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home 1320 E. Dupont Road, Fort Wayne, IN. Burial in Highland Park Cemetery.
