Michele E. Barnes

Michele E. Barnes, 71, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at her home in Fort Wayne, Indiana, with her husband and daughter by her side. She was born April 14, 1951 in Bluffton, Indiana, the daughter of the late Donald T. and Edna Marie Easterday.

Michele graduated from Chippewa High School in Doylestown, OH. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Michele was a Girl Scout leader for several years. She taught Sunday school at the former Unity Christ Church in Fort Wayne. Michele was an avid seamstress and was a virtual “Mom” to many friends and extended family.

She is survived by her husband, James Barnes; daughter, Jennifer (Craig) Dumford, all of Fort Wayne, IN; siblings, Karen Zuercher of Barberton, OH, Diane Easterday of Mogadore, OH, Donald (Kun Suk) Easterday of Tampa, Fl; grandchildren, Alexander Dumford, Jessica (Chase) Stoddard, Daniel Dumford, and Patrick (Anna Handwork) Dumford. Michele was preceded in death by her sisters, Felicia Benedum and Suzanne McNabb
