She retired from Parkview at age 62 after which she became a globe trotter, enjoying travel with her family to England, Scotland, Canada and other parts of the United States. "She will be mourned and missed dearly by her family." Surviving are her children, Darlene (Denzie), Billy (Lynn), Debbie (Mike), Teresa (Mark), and Kimberly (Jeff); daughter-in-law, Helen; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; siblings, Harold, Herman, J.C., and Linda; numerous nieces and nephews; and feline children Boo and Chipper. She was preceded in death by her parents; "favorite" child, Mike; grandchildren, Tammy and Bobby; and siblings, Carolyn, Patsy, and Fred. "She was the best mother anyone could ever have, bestowing her maternal blessings on her natural children and those to whom she served as a mother figure. She was a compassionate, forgiving, nurturing, loving, generous person to all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, leaving a void that can never be filled."
