Milton Louis Karsten

In 1954, Milton graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, with a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in accounting. Upon graduation, Milton began his career as an auditor with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue, where he worked for 33 years until his retirement in 1987.

Milton was a faithful member of Holy Scripture Lutheran Church where he worshiped the Lord regularly and attended Bible classes.

He was an avid fan of the Marquette University basketball team and held season tickets for many years. Milton loved to travel and had visited all 50 states, many countries in Europe, and Taiwan. He also enjoyed going out to eat with his neighbors and family.

Milton was very devoted to all generations of his family. He is survived by his sister, Mary Ellen Emley; a nephew, Glenn Emley, and his wife Suzie; niece, Gail Plaster, and her husband John; niece, Donna Feightner; Donna Emley, surviving spouse of nephew,

Dennis Emley; two great-nephews, Dean Trzynka and his wife, Robynn, and Dustin Trzynka and his wife, Jessica. Milton is also survived by five great-great nephews and nieces and five great-great-great nephews and nieces.

Milton was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Marvin J. Karsten; his brother-in-law, Jack Emley; and his nephew, Dennis Emley.

Visitation will be on Friday, April 17, 2026, at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Home - Covington Knolls, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46804, from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Holy Scripture Lutheran Church, 8811 Kinnerk Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46819, at 11:00 am with Pastor Nathanael Brenner officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.

A graveside committal service will be held on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 11:00 am at Highland Memorial Park, 14875 West Greenfield Avenue, New Berlin, Wisconsin, 53151.
