Your mom was a first cousin to my husband, James Coe.  And we spent many happy hours with her over the years and she visited us in Upland a few times. I’m sure you will miss her. She definitely was a great lady, such a blessing to so many. Sending love to your family.

Praying for your family during this time.

I always admired my Aunt Miriam.  Even as a young child I knew she had a special way of making everyone feel important, noticed, and included.   As a young man I remember being very impressed with her courage when she was involved in a protest around race relations  and equal rights which resulted in her arrest.  That helped to instill in me the respect for others and their rights.  
I remember fondly the many visits throughout the years to their Lake house in Indiana.  Their homes were always filled with inclusivity and generosity of spirit.
Linda and I were impressed by how Miriam and Ian's personalities complemented each other so well; her brilliant smile and captivating gregariousness and his steady kindness and wit.  Their Love and admiration for each other was obvious.

I loved Mimi and Ian.  I learned from  Mimi to look into a person’s eyes and you can open their heart. I worked at East Wayne Street Center and enjoyed working with Mimi on fundraising and looking out for the children we served. There was never a child at EWSC that went without a Christmas present. Mimi also hosted a staff Christmas party every year at their home. It was like walking into a museum, and I loved all her stories that went with her collection.   When Mimi and Ian decided to move, Mimi wanted to have an auction of some of her belongings and the funds to go to EWSC. Besides the big  high price items she had a garage sale corner where people could afford to buy something. I still cherish the items I have from her. She helped with the 40th anniversary celebration and told the radio station to make sure they played “Jeremiah was a bullfrog “. I loved that about Mimi, she knew what she wanted and people listened to her. I want to add a great memory about Ian. There was a vote for the executive staff and board members, when the vote came through Ian and I were the only ones to vote against it. We were out voted. But to this day it makes me feel great to know that Ian and I were right. If Ian Rolland was on my side that means a lot and I will never forget him for standing along side of me. I  loved Mimi and Ian they were the best, now they are back together .

Mimi’s love and kindness was amazing. She has left us with the perfect model of what we all should strive to become. What a wonderful world that would be! 
We will miss her, but never forget what she gave us.

Mimi Rolland was a unique and talented woman. Mimi never met a stranger, and loved everyone with whom she had contact. She, along with Ian, was generous to a fault.  Her love of the arts is well-known, and when visiting her home, you would marvel at the wide range of art on display. Being with Mimi was always exciting, as her love for life was unparalleled.   

At the Lincoln National’s holiday party, Mimi would lead the attendees in a holiday sing-along with boundless enthusiasm. Her work at providing opportunities for all caused her to participate in and support many community organizations.. Her love for Ian, her children, and grandchildren was evidenced by the time and love she shared with them.  Mimi will be missed by each person fortunate enough to have spent time with her.

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Mimi, a long-time friend and supporter of the University of Saint Francis. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family. Please accept my condolences on behalf of the University. With sympathy, Ann Phillips (Donor Relations)
