Today, we gather to remember and honor Nabor “Joe” Silverio Medellin Sr.—a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose life touched everyone he met.
Joe lived a life filled with strength, happiness, and a love that was truly one of a kind. He was often the center of the party, the life of the gathering, and the one who could always make you laugh. Joe had a special way of bringing joy to the people around him. He could make you laugh, and sometimes even cry, but in the end, he always made you feel protected and loved.
His free-spirited personality was reflected in the many memories he created with his family. His children remember the times he would stand behind the fireworks, watching with excitement and embracing every moment. These simple moments captured the adventurous and joyful spirit that made Joe so special.
As a child, Joe enjoyed dancing and wrestling, two things that remained a part of who he was throughout his life. In his later years, he was affectionately known as “Loc Dog," a name that reflected the playful personality and character that so many people knew and loved.
To know Joe was to know what it meant to love deeply and live fully. His greatest legacy will not only be the memories he created, but also the love he gave so freely to his family and friends. Let us remember Joe by carrying his spirit with us—by loving one another, finding joy in the present, and appreciating every moment we are given. His life reminds us that tomorrow is never promised, so we should cherish today and the people we are blessed to share it with.
Joe will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
