Nadine Roach

I, (Felice) Nadine (Parker) Roach, 94, passed away on January 19, 2023 at my home surrounded by my loving family. Born in Fort Wayne Indiana on July 20, 1928, to Ralph and Mary Parker sharing my childhood with two older sisters and my experiences with a younger sister and two younger brothers. As a pre-teen, I endured and persevered through the post-depression years forming a solid work ethic starting at the age of thirteen and graduated with honors from Elmhurst High School in 1945. On April 2, 1947, I married Charles (Chuck) Franklin Roach in Fort Wayne, Indiana. We shared 63 years of life’s adventures raising five children while working at a local grocery in Arcola, retail stores and Schmidt’s Pharmacy in Fort Wayne. In 1985, a twist of fate took Chuck and I to a new frontier called Flathead Valley in northwest Montana. I loved living in Montana and taking trips on logging roads to find the most beautiful places or in search of the perfect Christmas tree. While in Montana, I worked at Jack’s Pharmacy until retiring at the age of 72. I was an active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #234 Auxiliary in Kalispell, MT holding numerous local and state offices including serving as the Auxiliary State President. I was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary – Post 137, Kalispel, MT. Surviving family includes children Charles F. Roach, Jr, Kalispell, MT, Trina Caldwell, Fairbanks, AK, and Rita Roach, Fort Wayne, IN, daughter in-law Ann Roach, Fort Wayne, IN, grandchildren Brian (Karen) Roach, Erik (Jodi) Roach, Christopher (Deb) Roach, Valerie (Russ) McGregor, Emily (Jason) Zigler, Hayley (Dan) Storey, and Corri Caldwell and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; Nadine also survived by her younger brother Richard (Marilyn) Parker; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding me in death are my husband Charles Franklin Roach, sons Barry A. Roach and Kerry (Patrick) Roach; three sisters: Lorene Hill, Beatrice Morgan, and Mary Ellen Metzger; and brother Ralph Parker. A celebration of my life will take place at 2:00 PM on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Advantage Funeral & Cremation Service-Highland Park, 2304 East Wallen Road, Fort Wayne, Indiana 46825. Visitation will follow until 4:00 PM.
