

Nancy Barber, 61, of Fort Wayne, IN, was surrounded by loved ones when she passed away Friday, June 17, 2016. Nancy was born in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Albert and Irene Harrison on September 27, 1954. In 1978, she moved to Henryville, IN with the love of her life and best friend, husband Steve Barber. They later moved to Fort Wayne in 1987. Nancy gave the gift of music to the many students she influenced as a teacher. She had the opportunity to teach in the Brentwood School District of Brentwood PA; the West Clark School District of Henryville, IN; and the Indian Meadows Elementary School and Lafayette Elementary School in Southwest School District of Fort Wayne. Nancy was happiest when she was with her family and quietly helping others. She also will be remembered for the way she loved and cared for her dogs. Her profound work will have a lasting impact on the Homestead Spartan Alliance Band community. She is survived by her beloved husband Steve; children, Jennifer and Christopher; sister Susan (Bill) Rossetti; sister-in-laws, Jan (the late Don) Parker; and Sharon (Gary) Pfister; father and mother-in-law Richard and Marguerite Barber; and several nieces and nephews. Service is 10:00 am, Friday, June 24, 2016 at The Chapel, 2505 W. Hamilton Rd. S., with calling 1 hour prior. Calling also at The Chapel on Thursday, June 23, 2016 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Amyloidosis Foundation.
