Nancy graduated from South Side High School and went on to build a life defined by steady devotion to others. In her working years, as a bus driver for Southwest Allen County School and went on to pioneer the role of first Director of Transportation. Across 35 years of service, she was a trusted presence—respected for her dependability, her steadfast loyalty, and the quiet example she set through consistent care and responsibility.
Nancy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Wilfred Kuker, who passed away on July 21, 2012; her parents; her daughter, Polly; her sisters, Martha, Arlene, and Marylin; and her brothers, David and Paul.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Gibson of Fort Wayne; her son, H.W. “Bud” Kuker of Columbia City; her brother, Steve Meckstroth; her sister-in-law, Tina Meckstroth; her brother-in-law, John Kuker; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Nancy was deeply cherished by her family, and her enduring influence will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to those who loved her.
In earlier years, Nancy enjoyed softball, and throughout her life she found satisfaction in the simple, sustaining joys of knitting, camping, gardening, and farming. She especially treasured time spent at her cottage at Black Lake. She also shared many meaningful trips to Germany with her beloved husband—memories held close by those who knew how much she valued family, faith, and time together.

A Funeral Service will take place on September 29, 2026, at 11:00 am at St. Michael Lutheran Church.
Burial will follow on September 29, 2026, at 12:15 pm at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 6600 Covington Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46804.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nancy’s honor to St. Michael's Lutheran Church or Stillwater Hospice.
