Nancy Joy Ohmart

Nancy J. Ohmart, 87, passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025. Born in New Haven, IN on June 11, 1938, to Clay and Bonnie Brown, Nancy lived a life full of warmth, kindness, and joy. She was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Wilbur “Duane” Ohmart. Nancy worked for many years as a secretary at Christ Church of Georgetowne, where her welcoming presence comforted everyone who came by. Nancy received training through Stephen Ministries and generously volunteered her time at Parkview, offering comfort and companionship to those nearing their heavenly home. She remained steadfast in her commitment to ensure no one faced their final moments alone . In addition to her ministry work, Nancy found great joy in volunteering with the Humane Society, where her deep love for animals shone brightly. Over the years, she welcomed several dogs into her home, offering them not just shelter, but a place filled with affection and care. Her kindness extended to all living beings, and her heart was always open to those in need—whether human or animal. Those who knew Nancy will remember her as an absolute sweetheart who was genuine, faithful, and never afraid of speaking her mind. In her free time, she enjoyed collecting Cherished Teddies, and Angels. Nancy is survived by her husband, Wilbur Duane Ohmart. She is preceded in death by her parents, Clay and Bonnie Brown.
