Nancy Ellen Schnabel, age 89, of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Surprise, Arizona passed away on Sunday, November 26, 2023. She was born November 25, 1934 in Lagrange, Illinois to the late Edward J. and Rose I. (née Buege) Hallmark. Nancy matriculated from Brooklyn High School in Brooklyn, Wisconsin and would marry Norman R. Schnabel on March 10, 1952 in Iowa. She served as a Cafeteria Assistant for more than a decade, with Southwest Allen County Schools, prior to her retirement in 1996. Nancy was an active member of Risen Savior Lutheran Church.
Nancy is survived by her son, Norman (Wanda) Schnabel, Jr. of Sun City West, Arizona; son-in-law, Henry Redders; eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, Mahlon Hallmark of Oregon, Wisconsin; sister, Virginia (Richard) Detra of Albany, Wisconsin; and sister-in-law Shirley Hallmark of Beloit, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman R. Schnabel; daughter, Sharon Redders; brothers Edward J. Hallmark III, Richard L. Hallmark, Charles E. Hallmark, and Robert F. (Georgia) Hallmark; sisters, Delores (Robert) L. Levin and Constance (Albert) Fuchs; and sisters-in-law, Peggy Hallmark and Joann Hallmark.
Funeral Service is 11:00 am Thursday, December 7 at D.O. McComb & Sons Funeral Homes - Covington Knolls, 8325 Covington Road, Fort Wayne with calling beginning at 9:30 am. Interment at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
