Naomi “Dolly” Catherine Kellermeier, 91, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2022, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, with family at her side. Born June 24 of 1931 in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Irene Cunnington.
Naomi resided in Fort Wayne, IN; Sun City, AZ; and Independence, KY. She earned her Bachelors of Arts degree from Saint Francis University at the age of 50!! Naomi was a member of Harvest Fellowship Church, and Fort Wayne Artists Guild. She loved to garden, paint, silversmith, jewelry making, and was a fashion consultant and interior decorator. Three words that sum up Naomi: Loving, Generous and Artistic.
She is survived by her daughter, Susie, and husband, Jeff Hempton; grandchildren, Shane Carrier, and his fiancé, Janet Ritter, Kaidon, and wife, Lena Hempton, Kolton, and wife, Emily Hempton; great-grandchildren, Wednesday and Owen Carrier, Lewis and Everest Hempton, Alyssa and Gage Ritter; sister-in-law, LuAnn Cunnigton; niece, Deanna, and her husband, Phil Brown; nephew, Richard, and wife, Chris Cunnington; and niece, Cindy Sheets. Naomi was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Owen Kellermeier; sister, Norma Sheets (Cunnington); niece, Kimberly Sheets; and brothers, Richard and Charles Jr. Cunnington.
A funeral service to honor Naomi's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at D.O. McComb & Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home, 8325 Covington Road Fort Wayne, with a visitation beginning at 11:00 am, until time of service. Immediately following services, she will be laid to rest at Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
