Ned W. Lantz, 86, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, went peacefully to his heavenly home on Thursday, August 11, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. Born June 5, 1936, in Fort Wayne, he was a son of the late Glen and Thelma Lantz.
Ned was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, respected business owner, and devout Christian. He graduated from North Side High School and Purdue University with a degree in Architectural Engineering Technology. He proudly served his country in the 122nd Air National Guard, having been stationed in France. He started his career as a brick mason and grew to be a partner and President of Graham-Lantz Inc., a commercial construction company. Ned was a longtime member of St. Joe United Methodist Church. He was involved in hospital visitation, Stephen Ministry, and Bible Study Fellowship. He volunteered at Parkview Hospital and loved the interaction with the people he met. He was passionate about faith, family, and nature. Ned is survived by his wife of 58 years, Judy Lantz; son, Greg (Cheri) of Fort Wayne; granddaughters, Amanda and Allison Lantz; grandson, Jack Lantz; daughter, Laurie (Brian) Williams of Woodbridge, VA; grandson, Keagan Williams; and brother, Don (Mary) Lantz. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Kenneth and Glen; and sisters, Caroline Krapesh and Beverly Gladieux.
A visitation to honor Ned's life will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, at D.O. McCombs & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, Fort Wayne (IN 46815). A private funeral is planned. He will be laid to rest at Concordia Cemetery Gardens, Fort Wayne. Arrangements by D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home.
