Norma J Gilbert

Norma J Gilbert, 94, passed away on March 6, 2021. She was born on September 22, 1926 in Anderson, IN, a daughter of the late Paul and Pansy Wyant. She obtained her Bachelor's Degree from Ball State University in education. Norma taught at Harlan High School and Woodlan High school for 30 years before her retirement in 1984. Norma was an avid tennis player and golfer in her younger years. She and her husband enjoyed traveling through out the U.S. as well as other countries. She is survived by her children, Linda (Tom) Cromwell and David (Cheri) Gilbert; grandchildren, Lisa (Dayne) Conley, Lora (Jim) Mahony, Justin (Miranda) Cromwell, Brooke (Nate) Reeves, and Morgan (Brad) Wilson; and 9 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Ray Gilbert; and sister Lou Canaday. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Towne House Christmas Fund or Heartland Hospice.
