Oscar, not a day goes by that I don't think about you, but you'll always be in my heart.  I always think about what our lives would look like if you were still here. My children keep asking questions about their uncle, and of course, I have to keep your name alive. Your son Joaquín is improving his basketball skills. Overall, we are all doing well and taking one day at a time. We all love you so much, Tío! 🫶🏽

today is a very important day, oscar. that is because today it is july 26th, your birthday. i can only imagine the laughs we would be having today if you were still here. the plans we would be making! I never knew what to get you for your birthday but this year i think i will get you roses. i miss you with all my heart, and i am sending you a million hugs today and every day. i hope that you are somewhere celebrating, smiling, happy. you deserve peace. even though we are far apart, i am remembering you today as if you were still next to me. happy birthday to my best friend <3

good morning brother,

it’s 6:38 am on June 22, i feel like i saw you  yesterday and i just don’t know how three years has passed since you’ve been gone. there are so many things that have changed and when one day is here i’ll be so happy to be with you and daddy, again. wishing you were down here with us. this weekend had been the most hottest weather this year and i on planning to buy a pool for the kids so they can play and enjoy themselves. your niece is going to be in 8th grade this fall and your twin is going to be in 2nd grade and last your gremlin is going to ABA therapy instead of going to school until he mets his goals, first. we love you so much! sending my hugs and kisses to you and our loved ones up there.

Oscar was one of the most genuine people I have ever known and I will always so much much love in my heart for him. 

another month goes by without you and my heart only aches more. this month is my first birthday without you in years and i can’t even imagine celebrating when all i will be doing is staring at the front door waiting for you to come in, tease me, & give me one of those good hugs where we end up dancing around the kitchen laughing. every room in my house has memories of us, i remember you helping me move in, you were the first person i even had over and now.. i don’t even know what to do. i’m not ready to be without you. you’ve always protected me and cared for me, one phone call and then i’d hear you pulling in the driveway. i miss us so much. i miss you coming over and telling me every single detail about your day, talking for hours.. i never got bored oscar. i never got tired. you have been and always will be my safe place, and even though we’re just a little further apart right now i know you’re still with me. i can feel it. and yet.. i’m just so impatient to see you again. you hated it when i would cry but when i think about losing you i just can’t help it, it’s too much. i thank the big man in the sky every day that my last words to you were “i love you”, and that is my only comfort. i will cherish all our memories, all our pictures, all of it and i will hold you in my heart until the day comes where i can hold you again in my arms. ❤️‍🔥

l’m left wondering a lot of different things and it’s so heartbreaking to me that this past month has actually all been true. Everything, these past 12 days have been true. You left this earth. You’re now a angel, i have two beautiful angels watching over me. l’m beyond blessed to have you as my brother. l never said this a lot but my actions i feel, showed my love for you, honestly i loved you so much. This hurt is unbearable, not being able to see you anymore, no more wake up calls, no more texts, no more goofing around, no more dates, no more cruises, oscar..nothing. I am now understanding that with time, comes peace, comes ease and comes comfort, this is going to be so hard, i hurt so much. The only thing keeping me going is knowing that you’re at peace. You had another mission to do. l dislike that it wasn’t with us, but i know that it wasn’t for nothing. Like they say they take the best first….and you…you were one of one, you were the greatest, oscar. You were the greatest to live. Thank for you one hell of a ride. Thank you for teaching me, loving me, guiding me, for making me laugh, for being my other half, my motivator, for being my
protector, for being my true best friend, for always being true to yourself and finally for being such a giving person. You left a legacy that will always be remembered. You shown me so much.  Thank you for the best memories to ever exist.

Since your passing, Ive prayed every day, something I didnt do a lot before. I pray for our family, I pray for the kids, I pray for you, I hope you hear me, I hope that wherever you may be, you can hear us, feel us think of you, feel all the love that was left behind. I pray that you KNEW that you were loved. I wish things were different, I wish we all got a second chance with you, to relive some memories, to make new ones. I remember our last hug on xmas and Oscar I wish I didnt let you go man, it sucks, I wish I knew that somehow that was going to be the last day I saw you, felt you, heard your voice and your laugh. I wish I could hold you in my arms again and squeeze and kiss your chubby cheeks, scare you and Noni with IT lol, I really love you, and I  pray that we meet again Oscar. I look forward to that day. 

Mi Gordito! Never in a million years, I would be doing this. Twenty years ago, I remembered how exciting I became when Mom and Dad brought you home to us. I am truly blessed to have and call you my baby brother. I have always wanted a brother and my wish came true. You taught me a lot of new things when you were a baby and had a lot of amazing experiences with you. You always have a lot of love for everyone in the family, even for homelessness. Also, you were an amazing father figure to my children Leilannie, Joaquin, & Sebastian. Especially, when I am going through some rough times, you ALWAYS ensure the kiddos are great and healthy. God has had called you, so soon! My heart shattered into a million different pieces. I am going to miss your presence very much and knowing that the house isn't going to be the same without you, anymore. It's never a goodbye, I'll see you on another side. Give a lot of kisses & hugs to Papi and primo Jr. Save a spot for me!

My best friend 🥺 I have more memories from high school with you than I do without you.. I miss you so much already. I miss stealing your jackets at football games and you making me ramen noodles for lunch. I miss the night of semi and how my feet hurt so you carried me into the car😂 and how every day you would come into school at 7:42, i would unlock your locker and grab your books and you would change your shoes and by some miracle we always made it to class by 7:45. I remember how every time we would hang out I would tell you how I had to much to tell you and you would sigh and be like “Okay, tell me everything” and laugh because you knew I would talk forever. I will miss all our inside jokes, crazy to think you’re not here anymore to call me churro face or play zooba with me. I miss being each others rock and holding each other together through all this insanity lately. I miss your hugs, your stern advice, your teasing, your love. Seems like yesterday we were at the movies with our five slushies annoying everyone by talking through it. From seeing you every other day to not at all.. my heart is broken. I will miss you every day until I see you again my best friend.. I can only hope when that day comes you give me a big hug, sigh, and say “Okay, tell me everything”. I love you forever Chief O, it’s still unconditional down here ❤️

I still remember the first day I met you I knew you was the one🥺❤️, that bright smile that’s brighter than the sun & the beautiful eyes that shine brighter than the stars touched my heart including with the tight hugs you would always give me.. I will never forget the time when Oscar had the entire lunch table laughing until milk came out of our noses, everyone including himself. Oscar was charismatic & the easiest person to get along with. Any moment shared with Oscar would leave smiling faces & echoing laughter all around him. His love & friendship will live on forever. 

Some of the most memorable times I spent with Oscar was playing games during family parties as kids. Not so long, he came to Chicago to visit. I invited him to play basketball and we were able to catch up. I will always cherish the times we spent together. You will be missed, Oscar. 


I have many memories of you Oscar, I wish we had more as you got older. My first memory of you was when you were born, I was 11. We went to visit Tia Betty and you, you were getting your diaper changed and I of course decided to stand right next you and you pee’d on me, what a first impression. I remember taking care of you and Noni in the Francisco house and the Menard house. I love yous so much! You’re greatly missed already primo. You left us way too soon! Descansa en Paz Oscar ❤️

 I know I know you for short time. What I see in you I know you a amazing young man and love to make your friends and family laugh. You loved your nephews too way much they all adored you and looked up to you. I’m sure they wishing to be like you. Your niece always talked about you good and bad lol but when it is bad she told me your hand is big and she is scared to get in trouble in front of you or you will whoop her. Too funny. She deeply hurt. 
 Your father Oscar is there with you you are not alone and will never forgotten. You will be missed always and forever by all your loved ones.
