Patricia Lynn Rice

Born in Fort Wayne on October 25, 1951, Pat was the daughter of Russell and Betty (Longberry) Sibert. She lived her entire life in Fort Wayne and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Pat’s greatest love was her family. Pat believed there was always room for one more. Her home was an open door to family and friends, and Sunday dinners became one of the traditions she treasured most.

Pat and her beloved husband, Dave, shared 56 years together. They raised their children, Michelle and Michael, with love and encouragement, always supporting them and making sure they had opportunities to experience life and make memories of their own. Their love for one another remained strong throughout the years, and their family finds comfort in knowing that after a lifetime together, they are together again.

Pat had a special love for animals and a soft spot for those that needed a little extra care. There were always dogs and cats in her life, along with the occasional wild animal that somehow found it's way into her home. She also loved campfires, ghost hunting, scary movies, and anything a little unusual or unexplained.

Pat is survived by her children, Michelle Pranger (Tony) and Michael Rice (Julie); her grandchildren, Jaden (Luke) and Micalyn (Brian).

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Rice; her parents, Russell and Betty Sibert; and her brother, Michael Sibert.

She will be deeply missed, deeply loved, and never forgotten.

A memorial service celebrating the lives of Pat and Dave will be held at a later date. Details will be announced when arrangements have been finalized.
